How to add recent FixMyStreet reports to your hyperlocal site

Yesterday, we added a widget showing recent reports from FixMyStreet to Lichfield Live. Here’s how you can do the same on your WordPress site.

  1. Go to FixMyStreet and search for your area

  2. When the list of reports loads, click on the “Get updates” link at the bottom

  3. Now choose whether you want reports by radius, boundary or authority and click the orange icon next to your choice.

  4. You’ll be presented with a page like this:

  5. Copy the website address from the address bar

  6. Log into your WordPress dashboard and go to the Appearance > Widgets page
  7. Drag the RSS widget onto your sidebar

  8. Now paste the website address into the first box, and fill out the other details and hit save

  9. You’re new widget will display proudly on your site!
